Concealed Weapons Permit – $ 95

This is a 4 hour course that meets the requirements from the State of Florida for a Concealed Weapon Permit application. We will cover the basic principles of gun safety, handling of firearms, and individual legal responsibility and Florida law requirements. There will be a range session after the classroom portion of the course so each student can demonstrate their gun handling ability. We will provide the Concealed Weapons Permit application packet, and instructions on how to prepare the forms, get your passport photos and fingerprints, and how to get your permit quicker. State Licensing fees are not included in the course cost.

You must meet all of the following requirements before applying for a Concealed Weapons Permit in the State of Florida:

You must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident alien
You must be 21 years of age or older
You must be able to speak, read and write in English (no interpreters)
You must have NO felony convictions
You must have NO misdemeanor convictions for crimes of domestic violence
You must have NO record of drug or alcohol abuse
You must NOT be under a restraining order for violence
You must NOT been adjudicated incompetent
You must be able to demonstrate competency with a handgun
You must have a Government Issued Photo Identification (Driver’s License or State ID Card)

Concealed Weapons Permit/Basic Pistol Package – $ 165

This class combines all of the components of the Concealed Weapons Permit course with an introduction to the fundamentals of firearms safety and pistol shooting. The class has a classroom session where we cover all the State of Florida requirements to obtain your permit. The second part of the class is a range session where the student will learn:

  • Firearms safety as it pertains to self-defense
  • The integrated act of firing: stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger press, follow through
  • Clearing malfunctions
  • Engagement of targets from the low ready position
  • Learn how to shoot accurately
  • Provide a set of drills to continue developing shooting skills

The class is 6 hours long and the cost includes all range fees and 9mm ammunition. If you own a pistol that is not chamber in 9mm, you need to provide your own ammunition, 150 rounds.  If you do not own a pistol, we will provide you with a loaner at no extra cost.

Basic Pistol – $ 85

Teaches law-abiding, adult citizens, the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.

This course is 4 hours of range time learning how to shoot semi-automatic pistols. Students learn the rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the ready and low ready positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive a course completion certificate.

The cost includes all range fees and 9mm ammunition. If you own a pistol that is not chamber in 9mm, you need to provide your own ammunition, 150 rounds.  If you do not own a pistol, we will provide you with a loaner at no extra cost.

NRA Home Firearm Safety – $ 75

Non-shooting course that teaches students the basic knowledge, skills, and to explain the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms and ammunition in the home.

This is a four-hour course for safe gun handling that is conducted in the classroom only. Students are taught the rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearms accidents; firearm parts; how to unload certain action types; ammunition components; cleaning; care; safe storage of firearms in the home; and the benefits of becoming an active participant in the shooting sports. Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, course completion certificate.

Defensive Pistol I – $ 180

Defensive Pistol I Course

This course is designed to provide the students information, skills, and mindset to carry and use a gun for self-defense. This is a full day class where the students will learn how to use their gun safely, quickly, and reflexively as is required in defensive situations, while understanding the legal responsibility of handgun use.

This course should be considered a minimum for anyone who owns or is considering carrying a handgun for self-defense. This course is a prerequisite for Defensive Pistol II.

Topics Covered:

  • Firearms safety as it pertains to self-defense
  • The integrated act of firing: stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger press, follow through
  • Emergency reloading, tactical reloading, reload with retention, clearing malfunctions
  • Engagement of targets from the ready position, the draw, and the concealed draw
  • Strong hand and support hand only shooting techniques
  • Rapid multiple shots on single targets, rapid engagement of multiple targets
  • Engagement of targets while moving, and use of cover
  • Drills to enhance accuracy

Prerequisites:

Concealed Weapons Permit or documentation of good character, and you must be totally familiar and comfortable with your handgun.

Pistol On Flag

You must bring:

  • Reliable, functional semi-auto pistol (Minimum caliber, 9mm – No revolvers)
  • 350-400 rounds of ammunition
  • Ear and eye protection
  • Belt Holster (rigid, Kydex or hard formed leather, must cover trigger guard)
  • Magazine pouches (2 minimum, 3 preferred)
  • Strong Belt
  • Hat or Cap
  • Comfortable Clothing
  • Snacks and light lunch (Cold Beverages will be provided)

Defensive Pistol ll – $ 180

This full day class picks up from where our Defensive Pistol I class left off and allows the student to continue refining his/hers skills through repetition. Advanced techniques and situations will be introduced in order to enhance the student’s ability to react, defend, and protect under different scenarios and stress conditions.

Defensive Pistol II Course

Topics Covered:

  • Firearms safety as it pertains to self-defense
  • The integrated act of firing: stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger press, follow through
  • Emergency reloading, tactical reloading, reload with retention, clearing malfunctions
  • Engagement of targets from the ready position, the draw, and the concealed draw
  • Engagement of targets while moving, and use of cover
  • Engagement of targets from kneeling and prone positions
  • Strong hand and support hand only shooting techniques
  • Shooting from retention
  • Rapid multiple shots on single targets, rapid engagement of multiple targets
  • The proper tactical response to single or multiple opponent situations
  • Right and left hand incapacitation drills
  • Drills to enhance accuracy and speed

Prerequisites:

Our Defensive Pistol I course or any other recognized formal training.

You must bring:

  • Reliable, functional semi-auto pistol (Minimum caliber, 9mm – No revolvers)
  • 350-400 rounds of ammunition
  • Ear and eye protection
  • Belt Holster (rigid, Kydex or hard formed leather, must cover trigger guard)

Competitive Pistol Shooting – $ 195

Competitive shooting is a great way to work on speed and accuracy under stress. This is a full day class to help you get started in IDPA shooting sport. IDPA stands for International Defensive Pistol Association. In IDPA, you use your own pistol, equipment, and live ammunition to solve simulated “real world” self-defense scenarios. The main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual.

We will review handgun safety and teach you the range procedures specific to competition ranges — such as loading and unloading, and hot and cold ranges. We will practice movement and barricade shooting. We will familiarize you with rules, scoring, reading the results, and we will shoot various courses of fire and a classifier. Gear will be discussed in regards to each division for competition shooting. We recommend that the student read current IDPA rule books prior to class (but not required).
